After breakfast, we depart from Watamu and drive to Galana River. We arrive at Kulalu Tented Camp for refreshments before exploring the area on foot. Afterwards, we return to the camp for lunch and for those who wish to take a nap or relax. As the day cools down, we’ll head out on foot again. As the sun goes down, we return to camp for showers and dinner followed by a night drive to search for nocturnal species. Return to camp for the night.
Early in the morning, we set out on foot along the river, hoping to catch some of those early sunbathing reptiles. After a couple of hours, we return to the camp for brunch before heading out to the hotter plains in the Land Cruiser. Return to camp for lunch and a nap. We then drive up in the Land Cruiser to explore the dams and surrounding areas, and as the sun sets, we’ll head to a favourite sundowner spot for a cold drink and, if we’re lucky, a spectacular sunset. Return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Early start to the day as we head into Tsavo East National Park to enjoy a traditional game drive and bird watching. We will find a nice place along the river for a picnic lunch and then make our way back to the camp. In the evening, there’ll be a possibility of scorpion spotting—a highlight of previous safaris.
On day four, we’ll enjoy a leisurely start to the day. Breakfast is first followed by packing and admiring the camp’s landscapes once more. Afterwards, we’ll load up the Land Cruiser and head back to Watamu in time for lunch.
