Botlierskop Private Game Reserve boasts a variety of wildlife, including four of the famous Big Five. Safari-goers opting to stay here can expect to see the likes of rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo, cheetahs, and giraffes. Other wildlife on the private game reserve includes the rare black impala, the golden wildebeest, mountain zebras and hippos. For the bird watchers, there are over 200 resident bird species. Botlierskop is proud of its partnership with the IFAW, which allowed them to assist in the rescue of three African lions, which can also be seen during the game drive.

Winter is an excellent time to see wildlife because the days are cooler and the animals are not seeking shelter from the heat. The nectar-rich fynbos also attracts a bunch of feathered friends, making this season a true bird-watching paradise.
