The Crescent Island Game Sanctuary is one of Kenya’s most picturesque reserves and is frequently referred to as Naivasha’s best-kept secret. Surrounded by water, the peninsula-shaped sanctuary is presently only reachable by boat from either the East or West side. Lake Naivasha has made a name for itself as a fantastic tourist location thanks to its abundant biodiversity. Crescent Island Game Sanctuary is home to a variety of bird species that roam between the lake and the island, including the fish eagle, herons, black crakes, cranes, pelicans, ospreys, and others. On the other side of the island, visitors will find an abundance of wildlife including giraffes, zebras, hippos, the mongoose, the bat-eared fox, waterbucks, impalas, Kongoni, elands, and others.
Crescent Island Game Sanctuary provides the best game viewing on the island because it is home to a variety of wildlife species such as impalas, waterbucks, zebras, and others. Game viewing is done in the morning and evening, allowing tourists to observe the island's various features. The island also has excellent viewing areas for water animals such as hippos in Lake Naivasha. Bird watching is a popular activity on and around the island, as various species of birds have been recorded in and around Lake Naivasha's fresh water. Bird watching is best done between October and March when European migrants are in the area.
