Kololo Game Reserve boasts the impressive diversity of the Waterberg protected area and offers over 7,500 acres of untouched African wilderness. The savannah grassland area and thick bushveld are prime habitats for an array of resident wildlife. Safari-goers are sure to spot the likes of red hartebeest, blue wildebeest, zebras, eland, nyala, giraffes, and bushbuck, as well as numerous smaller species. With over 30 species of bird recorded in the area, avid twitchers can gear up for a fun-filled time scanning the skies and surrounding flora.

For most safari-goers, the dry winter months between May and July are the best times to go. The surrounding vegetation becomes sparse, and animals gather around water holes, making the big game easier to spot. Birdwatchers can see the reserve's birdlife at its best during the wet season (November to April).

Safari-goers will be thrilled when visiting Kololo. The reserve offers a wealth of outdoor activities, allowing guests to get back in touch with nature. The most popular activity is the guided game drive. Guests can explore the wilderness and spot wildlife from a safari truck, while the experienced guide or ranger provides plenty of insights. Additionally, the reserve has several walking and biking trails, which allow guests to get up close and personal with the great outdoors of South Africa. Because Kololo has a private entrance to Welgevonden, safari-goers can enjoy a Big Five safari and hopefully spot all members, including the elephant, the lion, the rhino, and the elusive leopard.

Kololo Game Reserve features an array of chalets and villas, sleeping two to six guests. There is a restaurant on-site, as well as a swimming pool.
