Pakamisa Private Game Reserve guests can enjoy an exceptional experience of natural African bushveld with its amazing abundance of wildlife and exotic vegetation thanks to the reserve's restricted access. Blue wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, red hartebeest, warthog, bushpig, kudu, nyala, impala, bushbuck, common reedbuck, mountain reedbuck, grey and red duiker, steenbuck, klipspringer, baboon, as well as a variety of smaller mammals, predators, and reptiles can all be seen. The birdlife is abundant and diverse as well.

The best time to visit the malaria-free Pakamisa Private Game Reserve is any time of year. During the winter months between May and September, the temperatures are moderate with hardly any rainfall. December and January are the hottest months, while October, November, and February to April are the warm summer months.

Activities at Pakamisa Private Game Reserve are endless and suit any discerning safari enthusiast. Game drives are accompanied by an experienced game ranger, who will explain the often-fascinating life cycles of everything from insects, plants and trees to the behaviour patterns of mammals and birds. For those who are intrepid at heart, horseback safaris provide incredible game viewing while strolling through the plains and challenging climbs of the rolling hills of the reserve. Other activities include birdwatching, Big Five photo safaris, golfing, river-rafting, fishing, and target shooting.

Pakamisa Game Reserve accommodation is limited to a maximum of 16 people at Pakamisa Lodge, allowing for a more personal experience. Pakamisa Lodge's eight suites are each styled after an African animal and feature artefacts and paintings related to the specific animal. Pakamisa Game Reserve is located in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, roughly four hours from Durban. Gourmet meals and superb hospitality are complemented by the exquisite setting.
