Kruger, Matobo & Falls (Accommodated)

Pretoria – Hazyview.
This morning, we depart South Africa’s administrative capital of Pretoria and journey through the scenic Mpumalanga province toward Kruger National Park. Several years ago, fences between the park and surrounding reserves were removed to create the Greater Kruger ecosystem—one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife areas.

Tonight, enjoy an introduction to local culture with Shangaan tribal dancing around the campfire in Hazyview, as we prepare for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

Please note: A pre-departure meeting will be held at 18:00 the evening before the tour begins. The tour departs at 7:00 AM on Day 1. Please ensure you arrive in Pretoria at least one day prior. Airport transfers and pre-tour accommodation can be arranged on request.

Today, we venture into the legendary Kruger National Park for a full-day safari, travelling in specialised 4x4 vehicles with a knowledgeable local guide. Kruger is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including all members of the Big Five: lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo. The park is also a stronghold for both the white and critically endangered black rhino.

After an exhilarating day, return to the lodge. For those keen to see nocturnal wildlife, an optional night game drive is available where leopards and other elusive creatures are often more active.

Hazyview – Tshipise.
After breakfast, we leave Greater Kruger behind and travel north through South Africa’s picturesque countryside to Tshipise in Limpopo Province.

Tonight’s accommodation is at a scenic resort set beside a nature reserve, where you’ll have time to unwind in the natural hot springs or relax by the pool. Don’t miss the chance to see one of South Africa’s largest baobab trees nearby!

Tshipise – Matobo National Park.
Today, we cross the border into Zimbabwe and continue toward Matobo National Park, stopping briefly in Bulawayo to gather supplies. After settling into camp near the park, the evening is free to relax.

Spend the day exploring Matobo National Park, renowned for its high concentration of rhinos and its large leopard population. Accompanied by a specialist guide, embark on a walking safari and a game drive to track these incredible animals.

The tour concludes at lunchtime, and the afternoon is free for leisure. Alternatively, you can join an optional excursion to the Matobo Hills, where you’ll visit ancient San Bushmen rock paintings and the historic grave of Cecil Rhodes—a figure who remains deeply controversial in Southern African history.

Matobo – Victoria Falls – Livingstone (Zambia).
Leaving Matobo, we pass through the town of Victoria Falls before crossing into Zambia and arriving in Livingstone, named after the famous explorer David Livingstone.

This afternoon, enjoy an included visit to the mighty Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi Oa Tunya or "The Smoke That Thunders." Witness the world’s largest sheet of falling water, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
